Svende Merian

Svende Merian (born May 25, 1955 in Hamburg ) is a German writer .

Svende Merian studied history , German and pedagogy , among other things . For a time she was an employee of the Hamburg Parliament with a focus on social gerontology . Since 1992 she has been working as a lecturer at the Volkshochschule Hamburg . She is a member of the Friedrich Bödecker Circle and gives readings and workshops at schools.

Svende Merian became famous in the 1980s with her debut novel Der Tod des Märchenprinzen , first published by Buntbuch-Verlag and later by Rowohlt , which describes relationship problems in the student milieu and became a bestseller in the alternative scene .
