Plot (summary)

The French detective inspector Christophe Vade ( Patrick Bruel ) is investigating the murder of an elderly French couple and, in the course of his investigation, comes across Jeanne Gardella ( Mathilda May ), wife of the businessman Antoine Gardella ( Jacques Dutronc ), a member of the organized crime scene and son of both murdered.

At the beginning of the film, a house in the mountains went up in flames, the house where Gardella's parents were born, and the plot suggests that this was not an accident . But Vade also begins to develop "friendly feelings" in the broadest sense towards the sympathetically reserved Gardella, as well as towards his business partner and lawyer as well as Gardella's driver and factotum ( Thomas ). A tightly interwoven with the main story subplot in the milieu in Zurich and a brutal city police officer ( Scatamacchia ) throw a very personal light on Scandurat , Gardella business partner and closest friend. Finally need to Vadella suicide were looking for, not least because he did not kill his wife and Vade wanted and therefore against unwritten rules violated within organized crime.

Reviews

“In“ Sweetheart ”there is pensiveness in the movements of the actors, an attitude that is otherwise only found in musicals. That may be because the main roles are played by Jacques Dutronc and Patrick Bruel, whose fame is mainly based on their singing skills. Melancholy and almost dreamy they move through this film, amusement and despondency always close together. They are all sad robbers and gendarmes, and it can very well happen that these men lean their foreheads against one another in moments of weakness - like children, like lovers. "Toutes peines confondues" is the original name of the film: Depending on the reading, all pains are fused, confused, confused, blurred. Life just doesn't stick to the rules of the game. "
