Svetlana Alexejewna Timoschinina , b. Chochlowa ( Russian Светлана Алексеевна Тимошинина ; born Хохлова ; born July 15, 1973 in Moscow ) is a former Russian diver . She jumped in 10 m high diving and with Yevgenia Olschewskaja in 10 m synchronized diving, she was trained by Valeri Statsenko. Timoshinina won several medals at world and European championships and took part in three Olympic Games .

Timozhinina started diving at the age of eight. In 1993 she won her first adult medal with gold from the tower at the European Championships in Sheffield, and in 1995 in Vienna she won bronze in the same competition. In 1994 she also took part in a world championship for the first time , in the tower final she was eighth. Timoschinina took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , but retired in 20th place in the preliminary fight. At the European Championships in Istanbul in 1999 she again won bronze in singles and with Olschewskaja gold in synchronous competition, in Helsinki in 2000 she also won gold and bronze, but this time gold in singles and bronze in synchronized jumping. At the Olympic Games in Sydney she reached eighth place in the singles and sixth place with Olschewskaja. A year later Timoshinina also won her first medal at a world championship in Fukuoka , with Olshevskaya she won silver. The duo continued to be successful in the following years. At the European Championship in 2002 in Berlin , the duo won bronze as well in the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona . In 2004 Timoschinina took part in the Olympic Games in Athens for the last time , but in individual she was eliminated as 19th after the preliminary fight. After the Games, Timoshinina ended her active career.

Timozhinina is a graduate of the Russian State University of Physical Culture. She is married to Vladimir Timoshinin , also a successful water diver and multiple European champion. Their daughter Julija (born January 23, 1998) is also a diver.
