Swetlana Jurjewna Cholomina ( Russian Светлана Юрьевна Холомина , based on the English transcription Svetlana Kholomina ; born November 9, 1997 in Obninsk ) is a Russian beach volleyball player .

Career

Cholomina played some tournaments with Xenija Timofejewa in 2014 and 2015 . At the U20 European Championship 2015 in Larnaka she won the bronze medal with Nadezhda Makrogusowa . In 2016, Olga Koschadei was Cholomina's standard partner. At the U21 World Cup in Lucerne in 2016 , Makrogusowa / Cholomina only lost in the final against the Brazilians Duda and Ana Patrícia . At the U22 European Championship 2016 in Thessaloniki Makrogusowa finished fifth with Cholomina. In 2017 she formed a new duo with Olga Motritsch . At the European Championships in Jūrmala Cholomina / Motritsch reached the knockout round as third in the group, in which they were eliminated against the Dutch Meppelink / van Gestel . In Baden , Cholomina and Makrogusowa won the U22 European Championship with a final victory against the Romanians Matei / Vaida . Makrogusowa has been Cholomina's partner on the FIVB World Tour since 2018 . They won the 1-star tournament in Anapa and were able to repeat last year's success at the U22 European Championship in Jūrmala . In some 4 and 5 star tournaments they achieved top ten placements. The Russians continued their series of successes on the World Tour 2019 . After fifth places at the 4-star tournaments in Itapema and Warsaw , Cholomina / Makrogusowa also achieved fifth place at the world championships in Hamburg . They then reached ninth place in the 5-star major tournament in Gstaad and won the 4-star tournament in Espinho .
