Sylviane Berthod (born April 25, 1977 in Salins ) is a former Swiss ski racer. She is four times Swiss champion in downhill (1997, 1998, 1999) and in giant slalom (1998).

Berthod began her international career by winning the Junior World Championships in Downhill 1995 and Super-G in 1996, with her win on February 28th under exceptional circumstances because she lost the right stick at the start (despite this, she ultimately had a lead 1.21 seconds to Katarina Breznik from Slovenia ). - The day before she had finished second in the downhill. The Swiss Sports Aid Foundation named her “Young Athlete of the Year 1996”. She contested her first World Cup race in January 1996. The greatest success was the victory in the downhill from St. Moritz in December 2001, her only one in the World Cup. Two years earlier, she had torn a cruciate ligament on the same route without falling .
She took part in the Alpine World Ski Championships four times ( 1999 , 2001 , 2003 , 2005 ). She achieved her best placement in 1999 in Vail with a 7th place in the downhill. She achieved the same place three years later at the Olympic downhill run from Snowbasin . Since she could no longer find a place in the Swiss national team, she announced her resignation in May 2008.
Berthod is involved in the social field and is a board member of the aid organization "Étoiles des neiges", founded in 1999, which supports children suffering from the metabolic disease cystic fibrosis .
