The synagogue in Eichtersheim , a district of the municipality of Angelbachtal in the Rhein-Neckar district in northern Baden-Württemberg , was built in the late 18th century and expanded 1830th The secular synagogue is located at Hauptstrasse 37/39.

history

It is very likely that the Jewish community of Eichtersheim owned a prayer room in the 18th century. A synagogue was built at the end of the 18th century behind the building at Hauptstrasse 37, which was built in 1779 and is still preserved today. Since this synagogue had become too small for the congregation, which grew rapidly in the first half of the 19th century, a new building or an extension of the previous synagogue was probably carried out in 1830.

Before the so-called Reichskristallnacht the synagogue was sold to private individuals and thus remained undamaged. After 1945 the building was used as a warehouse and a carpenter's workshop. In recent years the building has been restored and is partly used as an apartment.
