The synagogue in Beuel , a district of Bonn in North Rhine-Westphalia , was built in 1903 and was located at today's intersection of Siegfried-Leopold- and Friedrich-Friesen-Straße.

history

Around 1800 the Jewish community of Beuel built a synagogue in the area of today's Siegfried-Leopold-Strasse and Friedrich-Friesen-Strasse. In 1854 the Beuel Jews were given the status of a special community within the Bonn synagogue community; the synagogue association with Bonn was dissolved in 1875. The size of the Jewish community was 120 in 1828, 182 in 1885 and 130 in 1932.

Since the synagogue had become too small, a new synagogue was built in 1903 at the same location, but with a neighboring plot of land , based on the plans of the master builder Johann Adam Rüppel . On August 28 and 29, 1903, the inauguration took place by the Bonn rabbi Elias Kalischer .

During the pogrom on November 9, 1938 , the synagogue was set on fire and destroyed.
