In addition, the group is in the exploration of petroleum and natural gas throughout the South American region active. It also operates hydropower plants, participates in the construction of the telecommunications infrastructure and builds shipyards and port facilities in the northeast of Brazil. In Coruripe ( Alagoas ) the construction of the largest shipyard Estaleiro Eisa in Latin America was supposed to start in 2011 , but was banned by the judiciary of the state of Alagoas. The industrial project was originally intended to create 4,500 direct and 18,000 indirect jobs.
Synergy Aerospace Corp., a subsidiary of the Synergy Group, is based in Bogotá . It is the largest shareholder in Avianca Holdings, with 58.6%. The company is moving more and more into focus because, among other things, it has stakes in more than eight airlines in five countries. These are, for example, Avianca and Avianca Cargo in Colombia, Avianca Brasil , Varig Log and Synerjet in Brazil, VIP- and AeroGal in Ecuador and, since 2017, Avianca Argentina . In addition, the Portuguese TAP Portugal was originally supposed to join, but this did not materialize.
