The Cincar ( 2006  m ) is a mountain in the southwestern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the highest point in the west of the country. It lies in the north-northeast of Livno between the poles of Kupres and Glamoč . The mountain range also includes the peaks Malovan ( 1826  m ), Osječenica ( 1798  m ), Osin Glavica ( 1720  m ) and Voloder ( 1640  m ).

geology

The Cincar consists mainly of limestone and dolomite from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The high flanks in the north show traces of old glacier formation.

climate

The climate at the Cincar is harsh. The bora prevents tree growth on the southwest flanks. The mountain is covered in snow from mid-October to mid-May.

tourism

The mountain, which offers a remarkable view, can be climbed from Livno.
