The synthesis group has been part of the German Amphiboline Works of the Robert Murjahn Foundation (DAW) since 1966 . Countries in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe are supplied from Austria.

Historical development of the product range and company structure

1946 Synthesa began in Linz-Wegscheid with the production of a scale - solvent called "Silitol" and developed in 1949 a casein - cold glue , which under the name "Kaselit" in Austria achieved a market share of 85%. In the 1950s, the company introduced the first dispersion - white glue under the name "Synturit" on the market, which was followed by dispersion products under the name "Kasmalone" powder paints and under the name "Synmalon".

In 1961 Synthesa moved to Perg and has been producing building paints, plasters, varnishes, glues and abrasives ever since . After the death of the owner, Gustav Hornberg, the company became part of the Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke group. The independent continuation of Synthesa in Perg led to further product developments such as a water-dilutable acrylic varnish , silicate paints , silicone - emulsion paint , a water-dilutable corrosion protection -Lacks, a glaze -Programms and a solvent-free floor-wall ceiling adhesive.

With the majority shareholding and subsequent complete takeover of the Perger edelputz manufacturer Fries, Burgholzer & Comp. Building materials industry Ges.mbH and the acquisition of the building paints division from Herberts Austria, the Synthesa Group was created in 1992, which in 1995 took over the striped elephant as a trademark from the Caparol Group. The thermal insulation composite systems and plasters have been marketed under the brand name Capatect since 1997 and in 2004 a carbon fiber reinforced full thermal insulation was presented. In 2007 the carbon product range was expanded with a microporous photocatalytic facade paint, a carbon plaster and a very resistant carbon fiber reinforcement.

In 2005, the headquarters of the Synthesa Group in Perg was named the international wood protection competence center of the Caparol Group. Since the acquisition of Avenarius-Agro, the product range has also extended to building protection , corrosion protection , concrete and screed coating, wood and flame protection , wall and floor coatings , industrial floors as well as forest and plant protection .

In May 2012, the construction of an insulation material plant in the business park being developed there began, where facade insulation panels made of EPS-F ( expanded polystyrene ) have been produced since the beginning of 2013 . The Dalmatherm insulation plant in Perg was opened on April 26, 2013.

In autumn 2013, the construction of a training and application technology center including an office wing for specialist departments (Synthesa Arena) with a usable area of 1900 square meters was started in Perg on an area of 4600 square meters, which was officially opened on November 14, 2014.

The "Capatect hemp fiber insulation board", which has been marketed by Synthesa and Capatect since 2012 and developed together with Naporo, was awarded the Austrian climate protection prize on November 11, 2013 in the category "Climate protection through innovation".
