history

Syphax Airlines was founded in 2011.

For economic reasons, an Airbus A330-200 was returned to Airbus in March 2015 and the order for three Airbus A320neo was canceled in June . On July 31, 2015, the airline announced that it would temporarily hold all aircraft on the ground. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) had previously instructed all airlines and travel agencies to cease all business with Syphax Airlines after it was no longer able to cover any liabilities due to financial problems. The two Airbus A319-100s then stood at Sfax-Thyna Airport .

In October 2015, the company planned to resume flight operations for the first time and had taken appropriate precautions, including financial compensation for the passengers affected by the cessation of operations in July. The second attempt took place in autumn 2018: the owner Mohamed Frikha bought two Bombardier CRJ900s with which he initially intends to fly for other companies (so-called aircraft leasing ). The establishment of a separate regional route network is planned for spring.

Destinations

Syphax Airlines flew to international destinations in France, Turkey, Libya and Canada.

fleet

As of July 2015, the fleet consisted of two Airbus A319-100s with an average age of 6.3 years.
