The Tête de Valpelline is a 3802  m (according to the Swiss national map only 3798.2  m above sea level ) high mountain on the border between Switzerland and Italy in the Valais Alps . On the Italian side the summit towers over the Valpelline , on the Swiss side the Mattertal .

The normal route leads over the Rifugio Aosta refuge to the Col de la Division pass and then further east to the summit. Allow around 3 hours for the ascent from the refuge.

Located on the border, the summit stands between the Dent d'Hérens further east and the Tête Blanche further north .

The stage between Bertolhütte and Schönbielhütte as part of the Haute Route passes close to the summit of the Tête de Valpelline.
