It belonged to the former municipality of Marzoll and was incorporated into Bad Reichenhall in 1978 due to the municipal reform. Originally, Türk was a street village along what is now Untersbergstrasse. The oldest evidence of human presence is a sickle from the younger Bronze Age . In terms of naming, the current place name Turk probably goes back to Roman times: The original place name may have been "Duriacum", which means something like "Durius's estate". Up until the 19th century, Türk consisted of 19 farm properties, some of which have preserved some remarkable examples of rural building culture. These are the properties Hager , Unterbergstr. 18; Hoder , Unterbergstr. 19; Jagl , Untersbergstrasse. 7; Landerl , Unterbergstrasse. 10 and Zossen , Unterbergstr. 59. From 1818 onwards, the Turkish governing body belonged to the Marzoll community. Since the 1960s, larger new development areas were designated, which caused the population to rise. (In 2010: about 400 residents of legal age) The residents divide the elongated town into Obertürk and Untertürk, with the road junction to Schwarzbach forming the border.

The slaughterhouse of the association for the preservation and promotion of rural structures in the BGL eV is located in the village , where animals from the area are slaughtered. With the Marzoller Kramerladen , Türk owns one of the few local suppliers for groceries.

The Kohlerbach flows through Türk and flows into the Wasserbach in the Schwarzbach district .
