TB / FC Suðuroy / Royn was a Faroese football club based in Tvøroyri on the island of Suðuroy . The media used the name Suðuroyarliðið ("The team of Suðuroy") instead of the long form , while the fans agreed on the name Suðringar ("The people of Suðuroy").

history

The club was created in early 2017 from the merger of TB Tvøroyri , FC Suðuroy and Royn Hvalba , with TB's place in the Betrideildin being taken. This finished seventh in their last season. The second team from TB / FCS / Royn took over the place of FC Suðuroy in the 1st Deild , who failed to climb up in 2016 with third place. Royn Hvalba finished seventh in the 2nd Deild 2016 and was replaced by the third team.

In the first year after it was founded, the club started the league season with four wins from the first five games and thus took first place. This good form could not be maintained until the end, however, at the end of the season the club landed in eighth place. In the Faroese Football Cup , TB / FCS / Royn were eliminated in the quarter-finals with 2: 3 after extra time against NSÍ Runavík . After finishing the second season in seventh place,
