The SV Muldental Wilkau-Haßlau is a German sports club based in the Saxon town of Wilkau-Haßlau in the district of Zwickau .

history

The club was founded in 1914 at the latest as TSG Wilkau-Haßlau . After the Second World War , this association was first founded as SG Wilkau-Haßlau and then in the form of SV Muldental Wilkau-Haßlau . In 1954 at the latest, the association was transformed into the BSG Wismut Wilkau-Haßlau . In the summer of 1963 the club was renamed TSG Muldental Wilkau-Haßlau . In 1979 the association was called BSG Wimut Wilkau-Haßlau again . From the summer of 1981 the association was renamed Progress Wilkau-Haßlau . After the fall of the Wall , the club received its current name with SV Muldental Wilkau-Haßlau , which it had for a short time after the Second World War.

ice Hockey

For the 1955/56 season , the ice hockey team was allowed to participate as the winner of the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in the newly created third-class 2nd division . After the 1957/58 season , promotion to the second-class first division could be achieved. In the 1960/61 season , the team took part in the 1st division . There she could not win a single game and took last place with 0:18 points in the first preliminary round of season 1 . In the relegation game to the 2nd division, the team against SC Einheit Dresden then also drew the shorter and should actually have been relegated. Due to the dissolution of several clubs and teams, as well as the rise of SC Turbine Erfurt , the club was then allowed to stay in the league. After the 1961/62 season , the team took second place after the preliminary round in their season, but there was no promoted to the league after this season. For the next season , however, the team had to play a league lower, in the newly introduced group league. At the end of the preliminary round in season 3 , the team finished fourth with 2: 6 points. The following season even ended in sixth and last place of the season. Before the beginning of the next season, the team finally withdrew. For the 1965/66 season , the team started again in the group league. What happens to the game operations department afterwards is no longer known. There is no ice hockey department these days.

Foundation and Second World War

According to known records, there was an active football department in the club as early as 1914. The workers' sports club Haßlau also won the title of Saxony champion in the 1934/35 season. For the 1944/45 season , the football department was incorporated into the Gauliga Sachsen . More precisely then in the West Saxony-Zwickau group . However, due to the Second World War, the championship was no longer played.

Participant in the GDR district league

Already in the 1948/49 season the club took part in the state championship of Saxony . In the district of West Saxony, the team finished eighth with 18:26 points and could not qualify for the national class for the next season. In the 1954/55 season, the club then took part in the GDR district league Karl-Marx-Stadt and finished there at the end of the season with 18:26 points, eleventh place, which the team probably had to relegate. For the 1957 season, the team rose again to the league and could then claim eighth place with 23:29 points for themselves. After the next season in 1958, relegation was sealed again due to 14th place and 15:27 points. It was not until the 1967/68 season that the team was able to return to the district league. Within season 2, the team then finished tenth with 18:30 points. After merging the squadrons, the club had to relegate anyway.

For the 1979/80 season, the club then rose again, but after the same season with 10:46 points as the last in the table theoretically directly from. Since the league was divided into two seasons again for the next season, the club was able to hold the class and was incorporated into the internal season 1 . After the 1980/81 season, the team finished sixth there with 21:23 points. After the next season, the tenth place ended with 7:33 points. The team took part in the district league for the last time in the 1983/84 season. After this season, the team finished ninth with 18:26 points. Because the squadrons were united again for the next season. So the team had to finally relegate.

2000s until today

In the 2002/03 season the club played in the Chemnitz district class . At the end of the season, the team finished tenth with 36 points. From this the team should be relegated again after the 2004/05 season due to the 14th place with only 23 points. For next season, the team went but then in the District League A in. There she finished eighth with 35 points. After the 2015/16 season, the team qualified for second place for relegation to promotion. In the following season, however, the club continued to play in the district league. This class is held to this day.

In July 1971, the club's youth team in Chemnitz won the gold medal at the district's IV Children's and Youth Spartakiad. In 1979 the youth player Knut Steffens reached fifth place in the GDR individual championship.
