TSV Musberg

The TSV Musberg is a sports club in Leinfelden-Echterdingen things district Musberg in Baden-Wuerttemberg . The sports offer of the club includes football , athletics , wrestling , skiing , tennis , table tennis , volleyball , aikido, as well as children's and health sports . The club is best known for its wrestlers who competed in the wrestling league in 2010/11 .

Soccer

The football department has around 320 members. The first men's team will play in the Stuttgart district league in 2019/20.

Wrestling

In 2010, the club managed to get promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga and thus competed in the West Season of the Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season , where they finished eighth among ten teams. Although not relegated in terms of sport, they did not participate in the Bundesliga the following season and therefore had to compete in the fourth-class Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. After being promoted to the regional league in 2013, from which they were immediately relegated, the Oberliga team was also canceled in 2015 for financial reasons. Since then, the club has been competing in the three lower national classes.

The wrestlers are supported by the fan club Fanblock Musberg .

At the EM 2012 in Belgrade, the Musberg wrestler Frank Stäbler won the European title in the Greco-Roman style. In 2015 he became world champion in Las Vegas .

  • Frank Stäbler (* 1989), Greco-Roman wrestler: 2015 world champion, 2012 European champion, 3rd place in 2013 World Cup, often German champion, 3rd place in Junior World Championships and European Championships 2009.
  • Fabio Morena (* 1980), the soccer player started playing soccer with the TSV youth team
  • Paul Reiber (1904–1992), Vice European wrestling champion in Riga in 1926
  • Martin Beckmann (* 1977), including 2008 German Marathon Champion
