Taşucu is a district of the city of Silifke ten kilometers west of the mouth of the Göksu in the province of Mersin , southern Turkey .

The main economic branch of the city in the summer months is mainly Turkish inland tourism. The fishing is another source of income. From Taşucu there is a ferry to Kyrenia (Girne) in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by two state-owned companies. In the field of education, the Faculty of Tourism of the Selçuk Üniversitesi is particularly important for the site , where around 1000 students are enrolled.

Ancient church ruin (?) Near Holmoi

East of Taşucu are ruins of the 7th century BC. Holmoi founded by the Greeks . Pirate attacks led to its destruction in the 4th century BC. The inhabitants were resettled to Seleukia on the Kalykadnos (today Silifke ).

The Ottoman castle ruins Liman Kalesi are located on a headland in Taşucu Bay, southwest of the town . As there is a military port between the coastal road and the fortress, it is not accessible.
