Tabofat

Tabofat (also: Tabafat , Tabafatt , Tabofatt ) is a village in the rural community of Ibohamane in Niger .

The village, run by a traditional chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located around eight kilometers east of Ibohamane, the capital of the rural community of the same name, which belongs to the Keita department in the Tahoua region. Another large village in the area is Tchimbaba Tané, about ten kilometers south-east . Tabofat is located in the east of the Ader Doutchi plateau . It is the capital of the 178 km² Tabofat Valley, a small part of which is already in the southeast in the Garhanga municipality .

In the 1980s, the village consisted of two villages, each with their own local mayor: Tabofat Gabass and Tabofat Toudou.

At the 2012 census, Tabofat had 5159 residents who lived in 857 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 3,246 in 506 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 2,415 in 402 households.
