Tadeusz Iwiński (born October 28, 1944 in Piastów ) is a Polish politician who has been a member of the Sejm in the III, IV, V and VI since 1991 . Election term and lecturer.

In 1968, after graduating from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology, he became a Master of Chemistry. In 1973 he received his PhD in Political Science from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the University of Warsaw . In 1981 he completed his habilitation at the University of Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza (Polish United Workers' Party - PZPR) in political science. He has the title of Professor of Human Sciences. He worked at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Warmia-Masuria in Olsztyn . From 1977 to 1978 he was a Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University and in 1988 at the University of California, Berkeley .

From 1967 to 1990 he was a member of the PZPR. Then he was a functionary of the Socjaldemokracja Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej (Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland - SdRP) (he was one of the founders of this party) and since 1999 he has been a member of the state board of Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej (Federation of the Democratic Left - SLD).

He has been a member of the Sejm for the SLD since 1991 and re-elected in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2007. Since then he has been a member of the delegation of the Sejm and Senate at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg . From 1994 to 1998 and 2003 he was vice chairman of this organization. From 2003 to 2004 he was an observer at the European Parliament and from May to July 2004 Polish deputy to the European Parliament. From 2001 to 2004 he was State Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office under Leszek Miller and Marek Belka .

In the 2007 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm for the sixth time with 18,408 votes on the list of Lewica i Demokraci (Left and Democrats - LiD) for the constituency of Olsztyn. He is Deputy Chairman of the Sejm Commission for EU Affairs and a member of the Commission for Foreign Affairs.

On April 22, 2008 he became a member of the Lewica parliamentary group .
