Peter Grisebach

Peter Grisebach (* around 1954 in Hameln , Hamelin-Pyrmont district , Lower Saxony ) is a German director and theater director .

biography

During his school days in Hamburg, Grisebach received ballet training and training as a concert pianist . After graduating from high school, he studied acting in Hamburg . First contacts were made with the Hamburg State Opera and led to an engagement there as an assistant director . Then he went to the National Theater in Mannheim and attracted attention there with his first own productions . Productions in Braunschweig , Osnabrück and at the Stadttheater St. Gallen followed before he came to the Stadttheater Bremerhaven for the first time in 1978 as senior director for opera and operetta .

From 1976 to 1981 he directed various opera projects as part of the “Junge Oper Schloss Weikersheim ” at Jeunesses Musicales Germany (1976: “Die Opernprobe” (A. Lortzing); 1977: “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” (WA Mozart); 1978 : "The Wildschütz" (A. Lortzing); 1979: "Troubadour" (G. Verdi); 1980: "Salome" (R. Strauss); 1981: "The Bajazzo" (R. Leoncavallo))

From 1981 Grisebach staged in Münster , Ulm , Flensburg and Kiel . From 1985 to 1987 he worked again at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, this time as a musical theater director. He then moved to the Kiel Opera House in the same position for seven years. During this time, guest productions took him to the State Theater in Oldenburg, among others .

From 1994 to 2010 Grisebach was the artistic director of the Bremerhaven City Theater.

From 2010 to 2020 he was general director at the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater and Symphony Orchestra .
