Taijo Teniste (born January 31, 1988 in Tartu ) is an Estonian football player . The midfielder is currently under contract with Sogndal Fotball in the Norwegian Tippeligaen .
Club career
His first stop was his hometown club SK-10 Premium Tartu, where he scored 16 times in 17 games. Because of this performance was transferred from the Estonian top club FC Levadia Tallinn , where he became a regular. In the first season he was used in both the first and second team of the club and scored his first goals in the Meistriliiga . In 2006 he mainly played for the reserve before he made his way to becoming a regular in the first team in 2007. Since then he has been used there regularly.
In September 2011 Teniste switched to the Norwegian promoted Sogndal Fotball on loan until the end of the season . At the end of the season, Sogndal pulled the previously negotiated purchase option with Levadia and Teniste signed a contract with the club from the town of Sogndalsfjøra until December 2013.
National team
Teniste has played five international matches for Estonia so far. He had previously been appointed to the Estonian U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-21. He has not yet managed to score an international goal.
