The Tain is a river in the Zanzan District of Ivory Coast and the Bono Region in Ghana .

It begins northeast of Bondoukou in the Ivory Coast and initially flows in a wide arc from north to southeast. In the vicinity of the city of Wenchi, the course of the river bends to flow directly north to the Black Volta , into which the Tain flows a little south of the Bui barrage.
