Taisersdorf was first mentioned in a document from Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa from 1155.

Taisersdorf was an independent municipality in the Überlingen district . As part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the community was incorporated into Owingen on January 1, 1973. At the same time, in the course of the district reform on January 1, 1973, the district of Überlingen was dissolved and Owingen and thus also Taisersdorf became part of the Lake Constance district.

On July 1, 2002, Taisersdorf gained notoriety in the plane collision in Überlingen when a forest fire was triggered when the burning wreck of a Boeing 757 hit.

Population development

Taisersdorf had 209 inhabitants on June 6, 1961, 224 on May 27, 1970 and 316 on December 31, 2006.

coat of arms

The coat of arms of the formerly independent municipality of Taisersdorf shows a striding red ibex in silver on a green three-mountain . The coat of arms was proposed by the General State Archives in 1899, in view of the historical background of the Lords of Ramsberg . The coat of arms then led Taisersdorf until it was incorporated into Owingen in 1973.

  • In the village there is the St. Mark's Chapel , which was built before 1155 and the altar of which dates from 1699. There are two bells in the bell tower; the larger of the two is from 1751, the smaller bell was added in 1960. In 2016–2017 the entablature and the belfry were renovated.
