Takácsi is a municipality in the small area of Pápa , which is located in Veszprém County in northwestern Hungary . It has 818 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011; for comparison: January 1, 1980: 1011) and is located on state road 83, 8 km from Pápa . The parish is on the banks of the Gerence River . Takácsi was mentioned in a document in 1270, but the region was already settled during the late Bronze Age .
There is a Catholic, Reformed and Lutheran church in the village. On May 19, 1930, more than a third of the houses in the village burned down for unknown reasons, possibly as a result of arson.
