Kup is a municipality in Pápa County, which is located in Veszprém County in western Hungary . The population is around 460 (as of 2011), the area 24.78 km².

location

The community lies on the edge of the Bakony forest . The river Bittva flows through the village and flows into the Marcal . In the vicinity are the villages of Nóráp, Pápakovácsi, Pápasalamon, Bakonypölöske, Dáka, Ganna and Döbrönte . The city of Pápa is 11 kilometers away.

history

Archaeological finds show that people lived in this area as early as the Neolithic Age . The place itself was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1240 in a document.

Infrastructure

There is a post office, kindergarten, library, mayor's office, a doctor's office, a cultural center as well as a Reformed and a Roman Catholic church on site. Economically, the community is characterized by agriculture, livestock and viticulture. There has been an aluminum and iron foundry since 1968.
