Vanyola is a municipality in the district of Pápa in Veszprém County . The districts Pápanyögér and Alsószalmavár belong to the municipality . The population is around 530 (as of 2014) on an area of ​​19.51 km².

location

Vanyola is about 12 kilometers northeast of the city of Pápa . Neighboring communities are Csót and Lovászpatona .

history

The name Vanyola was first mentioned in 1222 in a letter from the Pannonhalma Abbey . During the Turkish occupation, the area was temporarily uninhabited. In the 18th century the population lived from agriculture and viticulture. Most of the settlement is arable land, there are a few smaller vineyards and some forest.

Infrastructure

There is a post office, a kindergarten, a school, the mayor's office and a general practitioner on site. A Roman Catholic and an Evangelical Lutheran church are visible from afar.
