Pápa ( Hungarian Pápai járás ) is a district in the north of the Hungarian Veszprém county . It borders in the south on the Devecser and Ajka districts and in the southeast on the Zirc district . In the north ( districts of Csorna , Tét , Győr ) and east ( district of Pannonhalma ) the Győr-Moson-Sopron county forms the border.

history

In the course of the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, almost all municipalities from the small area Pápa (Hungarian Pápai kistérség ) were taken over into the successor group of the same name. Only the municipality of Farkasgyepű was transferred to the district of Ajka , but the municipality of Bakonypölöske came from the small area of ​​Ajka to the district of Pápa. The district has 49 municipalities, which is the highest number per district in Veszprém county.
