The district Ajka ( Hungarian Ajkai járás ) is an inland county in the center of the Hungarian Veszprém County . The following districts border the district in clockwise direction, starting in the north: Pápa , Veszprém , Tapolca , Sümeg and Devecser .

history

In the course of the Hungarian administrative reform, the district was created in early 2013 as the successor to the small area of the same name (Hungarian Ajkai kistérség ), whereby the communities of Noszlop were given to the district of Devecser and Bakonypölöske to the district of Pápa . Farkasgyepű came into the new circle to compensate.

Ajka County has an average municipality size of 3,463 inhabitants in an area of ​​29.16 square kilometers. The third most populous district has the third highest population density in the county. The district seat is located in the only town, Ajka , almost in the middle of the circle.
