Zirc ( Hungarian Zirci járás ) is a district in the northeast of the Hungarian Veszprém county . It borders in the southeast on the Várpalota district , in the south on the Veszprém district and in the west on the Pápa district . The boundaries are in the north- west of Pannonhalma ( Győr-Moson-Sopron county ) and in the north-east the counties of Kisbér ( Esztergom county ) and Mór ( Fejér county ).

history

At the beginning of 2013, in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform, 15 of the 16 municipalities from the small area Zirc (Hungarian Zirci kistérség ) were taken over into the successor circle of the same name. Only the municipality of Eplény moved to the Veszprém district .
