Kirshnik Khari Ball (born August 18, 1994 in Lawrenceville, Georgia ), better known as Takeoff , is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He is a member of the hip hop group Migos , along with Quavo , his uncle, and Offset , his cousin.

Takeoff was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia in Gwinnett County near Atlanta . He grew up with his mother, along with his cousin Offset and his uncle Quavo.

Career

Migos (since 2008)

Together with Quavo and Offset, Takeoff started rapping in 2008. At the beginning the group appeared under the name Polo Club, but later changed this to the now known name Migos . The group released their first project, a mixtape name Juug Season , August 25, 2011. Subsequently, the mixtape was no label on 1 June 2012 at the market.

Their single Versace made them very well known after their release in 2013. The remix, along with Drake , made it to number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 31 on Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs .

On their debut album Yung Rich Nation , which was released in July 2015, other successful rappers and singers such as Chris Brown and Young Thug worked . The album was produced by Zaytoven and Murda Beatz and made it to number 17 on the Billboard 200 .

Migos reached # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their 2016 single Bad and Boujee , which they recorded with Lil Uzi Vert . Although Takeoff is visible in the music video, he does not appear in the song.

Migos' second studio album, Culture , was released on January 27, 2017 and also reached number 1 on the US Billboard 200. In the first week of release, nearly 131,000 album equivalent units including 44,000 pure album sales were sold.

Her next album, Culture II , was released on January 26, 2018. It became their second number one album with 199,000 album equivalent units including 38,000 copies sold in the first week of release.

Solo career (since 2017)

Since 2017, the rapper has been able to build a successful solo career in addition to his membership in Migos. His debut album The Last Rocket , released on November 2, 2018, made it to the charts in several countries, including number 4 in the USA, 8 in Canada , 42 in the United Kingdom and 83 in Switzerland .
