Talib Wise (* 13 August 1982 ) is an American American football trainer and former poker players.

Life

College and AFL

The Chicago ( Illinois ) native Wise played at Joliet Junior College and then in 2003 and 2004 at the University of Nevada .

In the summer of 2005 he took part in preparatory games for the Chicago Bears  in the National Football League (NFL), but was removed from the squad in late August 2005 and did not make it into the squad for the regular season .

Wise moved to the indoor football league Arena Football League (AFL). In 2006 he was with the Arizona Rattlers , 2007 with New Orleans VooDoo and 2008 with Chicago Rush . He starred in the 2007 film Daddy Without a Plan and played an American football player.

Europe

In 2009 Wise accepted an offer from the Dresden Monarchs and entered the top German league, the German Football League (GFL). At the end of the year he was voted the best Dresden player in 2009. For the 2010 season, Wise, who measures 1.82 meters and can be used as a running back , wide receiver as well as in defense, joined the Berlin Eagles within the league . He won the Eurobowl with the team and became German runner-up.

In the run-up to the 2011 season, he followed coach Shuan Fatah and his teammate Kyle Callahan from Berlin to the Swarco Raiders Tirol in the Austrian Football League (AFL). With the Innsbruckers, Wise faced his former employer, the Berlin Adlers, in the Eurobowl in June 2011 and won the match. He was also Austrian champion with the team, Wise was honored as the best player of the final. In 2012 he had to admit defeat with Innsbruck in the final of the national championship to the Vienna Vikings , although Wise got four touchdowns in the duel . He again received a contract extension with the Tyroleans and thus strengthened it in the 2013 game year. Wise and his team returned to the Eurobowl in 2013, but lost the final against their rivals from Vienna.

The same pairing presented itself in the final of the Austrian championship 2013, which Wise and his Innsbruck team lost too.

After the end of the season in Austria Wise moved to the Moscow Blackstorm team , for which he was on the pitch in two games and thus contributed to winning the Russian championship.

In the run-up to the 2014 season, the American accepted an offer from the Berlin Adler and returned to the German capital. In July 2014, Wise secured victory in the Eurobowl with Berlin.

Coach and return as a player

Following the expiry of his contract in Berlin, Wise joined the coaching staff of the Egyptian national team , where he was responsible for the wide receiver, running back and defensive back positions for a few months . In the 2015 season he played again for the Swarco Raiders Innsbruck and became Austrian champions with them.

In 2015 he was called up to the US national team for the World Cup in his own country, but was not used during the tournament.

In 2016 Wise played in China for the Dalian Dragon Kings, then in Russia for the Moscow Patriots , with whom he became champions.

Wise also switched to coaching and looked after the Cairo Hellhounds in Egypt in 2016. In 2017 the Koc Rams became Turkish champions as a coach under his leadership. In November 2017, Wise was introduced as the new head coach of the Berlin Adler (now in the second division) and supervised the team in preparation, at the beginning of April 2018 it came to a separation. In addition to this task, he held the post of head coach of the Spanish national team from the end of 2017.
