The Talk mit Dana series is a talk show by radio presenter Dana Diezemann .

The beginning

The first episode was broadcast live from the Horads 88.6 radio studio on August 2, 2017 . This radio station can be received in the greater Stuttgart area on VHF 88.6 MHz. Much of the program was parallel nationwide in Baden-Wuerttemberg in digital radio on the community media channel broadcast on channel 11B.

Concept and moderation

In each episode, a guest is interviewed by Dana Diezemann in the studio . This tells his story without a script. Each episode is broadcast live and usually lasts a maximum of one hour. There is an interruption with one or two songs during the interview. The guests often have a local connection or an embassy. The core topic is personal, formative experiences.

Radiance and first ending

In 2017 and 2018, a total of 35 episodes were produced every second Wednesday in an odd calendar week starting at 8 p.m. The repetition took place on the following Sunday from 7 p.m. The series ended on the HORADS886 on December 19, 2018. There was also a three-hour special with the two moderators from the beach cafe . This show was always the showing of Talk with Dana . At the end of the program, the talk was briefly discussed with Dana Gast for a transition. Some of these short appearances were taken over as teasers in the recordings before the broadcast recording. In terms of content, there was a look into the archive and behind the scenes in episode 40. Dana Diezemann was interviewed by the Strandcafé moderation team. The Horads Beach Cafe series was discontinued with this episode after 7 years and over 300 issues.

First change of channel

The Talk with Dana series was continued parallel to the HORADS886 broadcast from October 9, 2018 on Radio StHörfunk . This is a non-commercial radio in Schwäbisch Hall on VHF 97.5 MHz and Crailsheim on 104.8 MHz. The 14-day follow-up schedule was largely retained. Each episode is repeated three times on different dates within the 14 days.

Partner station

Programs are usually exchanged free of charge among learning radios and non-commercial radios . The episodes produced by the HORADS886 are sporadically broadcast on the radio station StHörfunk . From April 9, 2019, episodes produced will also be broadcast again as a partner program on Rundfunk Meissner . The opening broadcast there was exceptionally a live broadcast with the mayor of the city of Wanfried , Wilhelm Gebhard .

Second ending

For professional reasons, the series had to be discontinued on Radio StHörfunk in Schwäbisch Hall. With episode 57, the last of 22 programs was broadcast live there on December 5, 2019. The repetitions ended at the end of June 2020.

Outbound broadcasts

Talk with Dana episode 44 on April 4, 2019 with the HORADS886 pub chat team live from the pub

On April 4, 2019, episode 44 was the first successful broadcast outside the radio studio, live on VHF. The HORADS886 pub chat team at the Hochschule der Medien was interviewed in proper style from a pub about media, studies and the coming professional life.

Talk with Dana episode 50 live three hours from the Kocherufer in Schwäbisch Hall.

The anniversary episode 50 was broadcast publicly on July 18, 2019 as a three-hour live special with Andreas Oliver from the former HORADS886 beach café as an outside broadcast from the shoreline of the Kocher.

Stage event

With the event When the soul burns 7 radio guests were brought on stage. They told their story in a half-hour short form. The venue on October 21, 2018 was the Kulturinsel in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt.

Mouse door opener

The broadcast with the mouse from WDR television coordinates the so-called Maus Türöffnertag, an open day for young audiences, on October 3rd of each year . Radio StHörfunk took part in this campaign for the first time in 2019. Dana Diezemann interviewed over two dozen children live for 5 hours about their interests and thoughts on the future. This event was worth a short pictorial note in the local press.

Each episode was presented in 2017 and 2018 with a landing page on the Horads 88.6 website. The Schwäbisch Hall event calendar featured a full-page advertisement with the guest list every quarter of 2018 and 2019. This program booklet has an edition of 5000 copies.

All programs produced are briefly described with pictures and text. And can be listened to as a podcast on iTunes , Spotify or on the Talk mit Dana website.

Exploitation rights

For legal reasons, the music tracks are not included in any recordings available online. Unedited broadcast recordings in the Radio StHörfunk Mediathek are an exception ; these may be made available online 7 days after broadcast through a contractual agreement between the radio station and Gema .

Episode highlights

Minister of Happiness Gina Schöler from the Ministry of Happiness and Wellbeing live in episode 4

The following programs should be mentioned in the number of episodes available online:

  • Episode 4: In the week before the 2017 federal election, there was a special broadcast with Minister of Happiness Gina Schöler from the Ministry of Happiness and Wellbeing . She explained the subject of happiness in great detail. As is typical for an election special, this program exceeded the set 60 minutes by a long way.
  • Episode 13: Nicola Papadothomakos described her rape, which she barely survived. This episode was submitted for the German Radio Prize 2018 in the category 'Best Interview', but not nominated.
  • Episodes 5, 21 and 37: Author and Germany's 'showcase depressant' Uwe Hauck speaks several times about anxiety, his attempted suicide and the successful fight against the Bavarian Mental Health Law . In episode 41, his wife Sibylle Hauck was also a guest and described from her point of view how she saved her husband's life.
  • Episode 46 is the most popular program to date with a four-digit number of views (as of 01/2020). Coach Thore Volquardsen talks about life realization and self-discovery.
  • Episode 54: The midwife Anja Lehnertz spoke about violence during childbirth. This emotional broadcast was submitted for the LFK Media Prize 2020, but not nominated.

Follow-up broadcast Maxis Maximal

In order to avoid unauthorized overruns of the broadcast hour and thus a conflict in the given hourly grid during exciting live interviews, the following hour was basically occupied with the music program Maxis Maximal when the station was switched to Radio StHörfunk and Rundfunk Meissner . This program consists of long versions ( maxis ) of various titles from one genre without intermediate moderation. The program title is a homage to a program on NDR 2 from the 80s by Gerd Alzen . This additional time was used several times.

Current broadcast times

Since April 2019, an episode has been broadcast on the Meissner radio every Monday from 2:05 p.m. and Tuesday from 6:05 p.m.
