The dam Stollberg , dam Querbach or Querbach Dam is a dam in the Free State of Saxony . It was built from 1949 to 1954 near Stollberg in the Ore Mountains . It serves the drinking water supply for Stollberg and the surrounding area and the flood protection . The dam is a "large dam" according to ICOLD . The dammed body of water is the Untere Querenbach and some smaller streams.

The barrier structure of the dam is a dam with an inclined inner seal made of clay . The water is withdrawn through a withdrawal tower in the reservoir . The dam has a pre- dam at the tributary of the Querenbach.

Freetime activities

Bathing and other water sports are not allowed because the dam serves to produce drinking water with special cleanliness regulations.
