Tamga ( Kyrgyz Тамга ) is a town in northeastern Kyrgyzstan on mountain lake Issyk Kul .
location
Tamga located on the southern shore of Lake Issyk Kul in Rajon Djeti-Ögüs the area Issyk Kul at an altitude of 1691 meters. The peaks of the Tian Shan rise to the south and east , with some of the highest peaks in the country in the east, including the Pik Yeltsin (5168 m) and the Pik Karakol (5216 m). The Kyrgyz capital Bishkek is located 255 kilometers northwest of Tamga, the regional capital Karakol is about 80 kilometers northeast of the place.
The highways A363 and A364, two of the most important traffic routes in the region, meet near Tamga. The A363 formed a ring road around the Issyk Kul and in this way connects Tamga with larger towns on the lake, such as Tscholponata , Balyktschy and Karakol. The A364 runs into the mountainous southeast of the country and connects Tamga with the Kumtor mine , among other things , which is of immense economic importance for the region and for the whole of Kyrgyzstan. The small Tamga Airport is located in the immediate vicinity of the village.

Tamga has a cool temperate climate , which is characterized by lower temperatures compared to the capital Bishkek, especially in the summer months. Precipitation is to be expected especially in spring, with an annual precipitation of 475 mm Tamga has a slightly more humid climate than Bishkek.

economy
Agriculture and tourism are among the most important industries in the town. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the population of Tamga sank, as the numerous tourists from the former Soviet Union sometimes stayed away and the local economy collapsed as a result. In the following years more and more tourists from Russia , but also from other countries around the world, could be won. The attractions of the place include the beaches and bays of Issyk Kul, the mountainous hinterland, which can be used for hiking and horse riding trips, and the pilgrimage site of Tamga Tash .
In addition to tourism, agriculture is of great economic importance. Apples , apricots and numerous berries are grown in the area around the village .
