On the 29th of every month, when welfare runs out, Catherine MacDonald begins to dream of a different life. When her alcoholic mother, Tammy, is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Catherine has to take care of her. She hires the talk show agent Ilana Wiseman to help her capitalize on her life story.
