Tarek Müller (born October 28, 1988 in Hamburg ) is a German entrepreneur .

Tarek Müller is co-founder and managing director of the online mail order company About You , a subsidiary of the Otto Group . He is assigned a pioneering role in German e-commerce and a key role in the digital transformation of the mail order company.

Life

Tarek Müller is the son of a doctor from Egypt and a radio journalist. He grew up in Hamburg-Harburg and attended the Heisenberg-Gymnasium in Hamburg-Eißendorf , which he left during the twelfth grade. He then obtained his vocational diploma at the Harburg Business School. Müller lives and works in Hamburg.

Entrepreneurial activity

At the age of 15, Müller founded his first company, earned his first money as an operator of online forums, on whose pages he placed advertisements, and began to program search engine optimized websites. In the following years he sold, among other things, imported poker cases and water pipes in his own online shops, which achieved annual sales of over one million euros. After the construction of a factory in China, for which he had paid in advance, did not materialize, Müller had to sell several online shops in order to avert bankruptcy.

At the same time, he began to set up a group of agencies that dealt with online trading and marketing as well as advice, design and implementation of digital business models. The companies founded by Müller as part of these activities included NetImpact Framework GmbH , eTribes Framework GmbH and vStores Trading GmbH (today About You GmbH ). One of the first major customers of the consulting company eTribes was the Otto Group . 2011 participated Otto at the vStores Trading GmbH . The NetImpact Framework GmbH was in 2013 by the Otto Group acquired; At that time, Müller employed around 100 people in six companies.

Tarek Müller is also a co-founder of the investment company Wald & Wiese Holding GmbH, which was established in 2018 . With the sale of its stake in Global Marketplace Group GmbH , operator of the Amazon marketing agency Factor-A , to the Dutch digital agency Dept , Wald & Wiese Holding realized a profit in the one- to double-digit million range in 2018.

Tarek Müller worked for the Otto Group with eTribes Framework GmbH since 2008 as a consultant and digital service provider. Otto entrusted Müller, together with Benjamin Otto, with the conception and management of an e-commerce start-up under the name Projekt Collins (an allusion to the American management expert Jim Collins and his book "Built to Last") and took over in this Connection 2013 Müller's digital agency NetImpact with all employees.
