The Tatalina River is an approximately 120 km long right tributary of the Chatanika River in central Alaska .
The Tatalina River rises in the Yukon Tanana highlands at an altitude of about 500 m . From there it flows 60 km in a south-southwest direction through the hill country. After 30 km the Elliott Highway and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline cross the river. The course of the river has numerous bends and oxbow lakes . In the lower reaches the river reaches the Tanana lowlands. It turns to the west and finally flows 8.5 km south-southeast of the settlement Minto into the Chatanika River, 1.7 km above its mouth into the Tolovana River .
