The Tolovana River is a 188 km long right tributary of the Tanana River in central Alaska .
The Tolovana River has its source in the Yukon Tanana Highlands . From there it flows mainly in a south-westerly direction. He shows a strongly meandering behavior. Below Minto , the Chatanika River meets the Tolovana River on the left. The Tatalina River , which runs east of the Tolovana River, joins the Chatanika River about two kilometers east. In the lower reaches of the Tolovana River flows through the Tanana lowlands. There a branch of the Tanana River meets the river on the left. The Tolovana River finally flows into the Tanana River, which flows westwards, 100 km west of Fairbanks .
The Elliott Highway ( Alaska Route 2 ) crosses the upper reaches of the Tolovana River not far from Livengood .
