Tebbe Harms Kleen
Tebbe Harms Kleen (born May 4, 1932 in Düsseldorf ; † January 7, 2016 in Würzburg ) was a German actor , director , dramaturge and artistic director .
Live and act
Kleen graduated from high school in 1951 and then studied German, art history, theater studies and philosophy at the University of Cologne , the University of Munich and the University of Bonn . His dissertation was Hugo von Hofmannsthal on the topic: Elements of Hofmannsthal's dramatic style in his first dramas .
He was initially active as an actor in Bonn , Neuss , Bielefeld and at the Celle Castle Theater . Then he shifted his work to direction and dramaturgy, including at the Kiel Theater . From 1970 to 1974 Kleen was chief dramaturge and senior stage director of the theater at the Stadttheater Würzburg , where he staged his first operas.
From 1974 to 1976 he was senior director at the Lübeck Theater , from 1976 to 1979 he was a freelance director in Darmstadt , Lübeck , Würzburg and Graz, among others . In 1979 Kleen was appointed artistic director at the Landestheater Coburg , in 1988 he was appointed artistic director at the Stadttheater Würzburg. Until 1999 he managed the fortunes of the Würzburg theater and at the same time worked here again and again as an actor, for example in the title role of Arthur Schnitzler's Professor Bernhardi or as Count von Gloster in Shakespeare's King Lear . His numerous productions include Maria Stuart , Kabale und Liebe , Hamlet , Maß für Maß , Hamletmaschine , Uncle Wanja , Don Giovanni , Tannhäuser and Lulu .
On December 5th, 2009, Tebbe Harms Kleen was appointed honorary member of the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg on behalf of the city of Würzburg by Mayor Georg Rosenthal for his longstanding services and artistic success as director and artistic director.
