geography

Techelwitz is located about five kilometers northeast of Oldenburg in Holstein on county road 41 from Oldenburg in Holstein to Heiligenhafen . The Baltic Sea with the beach in Blankeck is about three kilometers to the north.

history

The etymology of the name is unclear, presumably it is of ancient Polish origin. Techelwitz was first mentioned in writing as Techelwitzendorp on May 16, 1286, when it was sold by Count Gerhard von Holstein to the cathedral chapter of Lübeck for the purpose of certain vicarages . December 13, 1292 Techelwitz is mentioned as Thecgelvicendorp when the Lübeck citizens Johannes Goldoge, Volmar von Attendorn, Alexander Krek and Gerhard von Dagen give ten hooves in the village to Tossemar Drake. On May 29, 1450, Techelwitz was mentioned as Techeluisse when Bishop Arnold von Lübeck moved the vicariate to another altar. Techelwitz has been part of the Gremersdorf community since April 1, 1937 .
