Hadi Teherani (born February 2, 1954 in Tehran , Iran ) is an Iranian-German architect and designer living in Hamburg .

Life

Teherani studied architecture at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 1977 to 1984 . From 1989 to 1991 he worked at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen as a research assistant at the chair for urban planning and engineering , Prof. Volkwin Marg . In 1991 Teherani founded the architecture office BRT Architects in Hamburg together with Jens Bothe and Kai Richter . In 2012 Teherani took over the shares in BRT from Bothe and Richter. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Free Academy of the Arts Hamburg .

In order to develop further sources of income, Hadi Teherani works not only as an architect, but also in the field of product and interior design. His goal is not just the empty, architectural space, but the atmospherically coherent space that is harmoniously designed right down to all the furnishing details and can be experienced by the senses. In cooperation with various manufacturers, Teherani realizes furnishings, textile coverings or wall surfaces for its buildings to match its architectural language. Hadi Teherani tries to become a brand through design. The catalog of the designer Hadi Teherani ranges from the office chair program ("Silver" / Interstuhl 2004) to further seating furniture, sideboards , a mobile office module, lights, door and window fittings, various carpet collections, wallpapers and sanitary objects to the kitchen (+ ARTESIO / Poggenpohl 2010) and a bicycle (Hadi Teherani e-Bike, 2011).

The claim to cover and combine architecture, product and interior design was developed in Kiton showrooms (New York, Tokyo, Milan, Rome, London), exhibition stands, a customer center and a television studio, as well as for Zayed University in Abu Dhabi Redeemed. International awards document the equality of architecture, product and interior design.
