The Teikyo University ( Jap. 帝京大学 , Teikyo daigaku ) is a private university in Tokyo , Japan .
The university is a member of the Teikyō University Group, which has three universities and two dozen colleges, technical, high, middle, elementary and kindergartens, as well as the campuses in Berlin ( Germany ), Denver ( USA ) and Maastricht ( Netherlands ).
history
In 1931 the Teikyō School of Commerce ( 帝 京 商業 学校 , Teikyō shōgyō gakkō ) was founded by Okinaga Shōbei ( 沖 永 荘 兵衛 ). The name Teikyō denotes "the imperial residence city" or Tokyo . In 1966, the school body founded Teikyō University with two faculties for economics and humanities.
She added faculties over the years: Law (1967), Medicine (1971), Pharmacy (1977), Natural and Engineering Sciences (1989), Medical Technology (2004), Fukuoka Medical Technology (2005), and Foreign Language Studies (2007).
