List of TV channels

Polsat is a Polish private television broadcaster . On December 5, 1992, Polsat from the Netherlands went on the air as the first Polish- speaking private broadcaster. Today Polsat is one of the four most important TV channels in Poland. The founder of Polsat is Zygmunt Solorz-Żak , who became one of the wealthiest Poles through the success of his company.

history

In December 2006, Axel Springer AG signed a preliminary agreement with Solorz to take over 25.1 percent of the company's shares for a maximum of 300 million euros. At the same time, she submitted an application to the Polish Office for Competition and Consumer Protection UOKiK to take over a minority stake. According to the preliminary contract, Springer should get two of the eight seats on the Polsat board. The UOKiK rejected the application in April 2007 on the grounds that Axel Springer AG would take control of Polsat despite the minority stake. Thereupon Springer decided in December 2007 not to pursue the acquisition of the stake any further.
