history

19th century

In the 19th century, agricultural cooperatives were established throughout Switzerland - with the exception of Ticino . These took over the marketing of the harvest and enabled lower prices for purchasing means of production.

20th century

In the time after the Second World War there was a Landi in almost every major village. However, these were only a few square meters in size and could not be compared with today's shops. Over time, more and more shops were closed or merged into one large department.

With the decline in the importance of agriculture, a more professional sales structure was established in the 1970s. The aim was to bring the various cooperatives together and to appear under a uniform look throughout Switzerland.

21st century

Today there are only a few small shops and new Landi wholesale markets with sales areas of up to 2000 square meters are constantly emerging. Since Landi builds according to a uniform element construction concept, new sales areas can be created quickly and inexpensively. These are often combined with the Agrola petrol station shops, which are also part of Fenaco .

Landi's turnover in the 2013 financial year was around 1.3 billion francs.

On June 29, 2017, Landi and other market participants signed the “ Declaration of intent to reduce the use of peat in the production, supply and consumption of sack for end consumers in Switzerland ”.

On October 26, 2017, Landi opened an online shop at www.landi.ch . Of the 8000 products, around 1500 can be delivered to your home. Orders placed by 5 p.m. are usually delivered the following day directly from the Post's YellowCube . Payment can be made either by invoice , Postcard , Visa , Mastercard or PayPal .

Landi operates a logistics center in Lahr in Baden-Württemberg with 45,000 high-bay pallet storage spaces and another in Dotzigen in the canton of Bern with space for 60,000 pallets.

In May 2019, the first Agrola fast charging station for electric vehicles in Switzerland was opened at Landi in Worb .
