Telvin Smith (* 11. April 1991 in Valdosta , Georgia ) is a former American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Jacksonville Jaguars as a linebacker .

college

Smith, who also made a name for himself as a track and field athlete during high school , attended Florida State University and played college football as a linebacker for their team, the Seminoles, with great success in 2010 and 2013 . In 54 games he was able to set 214 tackles and achieve 7.0 sacks . He also got two interceptions and two touchdowns . In 2013 he won the national championship with the Seminoles .

NFL

In the 2014 NFL Draft , he was selected in the fifth round as the 144th player of the Jacksonville Jaguars . He was awarded a four-year contract for $ 2.43 million . Smith was able to establish himself immediately and already appeared in all 16 games in his rookie season, nine times as a starter .
Together with the veteran Paul Posluszny , Smith subsequently became the defining personality of the Jaguar linebacker corps. In 2015 he scored his first touchdown against the Buffalo Bills .
