Teodoro Anastasia

Teodoro Anastasia (born December 8, 1843 in Breno , † July 5, 1892 in Port Said ) was a Swiss engineer and architect .

Life

Teodoro Anastasia attended high school and the Lyceum in Lugano and then studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan . In 1861 he moved to the Polytechnic (now the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ) in Zurich and obtained his doctorate in engineering in 1866 .

Shortly after graduating, he got a job as an engineer with the Compagnie universelle du canal maritime de Suez in Paris in 1866 ; Together with him, his fellow students Gioachimo Pioda (1842–1874), who was killed in a mine explosion, Giovanni Soldati, Giulio Gianini, Gaetano Fontana and Giacomo Lepori (1843–1899) received a job.

In 1866 he traveled to Egypt and was employed there until 1870 as a sector manager in the construction of the Suez Canal . Together with Giacomo Lepori, he took over the management of the local construction company and together they built the post office in Cairo, among other things.

Teodoro Anastasia was also inspector of the Egyptian land registry office , director of public works in Egypt and construction manager of the great Nubaria Canal 90 kilometers northwest of Cairo.

In 1883 he sponsored the secondary school and drawing school in Breno. On July 2, 1892, he took in Port Said life
