Teresa Hohenlohe
Maria Teresa Hohenlohe , née Maria Teresa Bulgarini d'Elci (born June 19, 1964 in Milan , † August 20, 2007 in Vienna ) was an Austrian gallery owner.
Life
Teresa Hohenlohe was born Maria Teresa Bulgarini d'Elci, daughter of Alceo von Bulgarini d'Elci and Maria, née Hardegg , in Milan, attended the Maria Regina grammar school in the Hofzeile in Vienna-Döbling , studied painting in Florence and was then trained in Peter Weibel's class for new media started at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where she graduated For several years she worked for the gallery owner Hans Mayer in Düsseldorf , where she came into contact with the currents of modern art from the environment of Joseph Beuys . In 1999 she took over the gallery from Kurt Kalb in Vienna and renamed it "Galerie Hohenlohe & Kalb", since 2006 it has been called "Galerie Hohenlohe". Franz Seilern, who continued it, closed the gallery in 2008.
Due to her special ability to approach people, she had a large fan base in the various strata of Austrian society.
Her first marriage was to the journalist Karl Hohenlohe . Only a few weeks before her suicide she married the art historian Franz Seilern, who had joined her gallery as a partner in 2005. She left two daughters from her first marriage.

Her work in Düsseldorf for the gallery owner Hans Mayer and the collaboration with the Düsseldorf artists finally strengthened her on her way to looking after the works of her colleagues instead of her own artistic work and establishing them in the art scene.
After returning to Vienna, she joined the Kalb Gallery in 1992 as an employee. After Kalb's withdrawal from the gallery in 1999, she continued his work with a focus on a contemporary gallery program. Particular attention was paid to her commitment to contemporary art and its artists and her great talent in conveying complex art positions.
In the years 2000 and 2002 she organized exhibitions by Anselm Glück in her gallery (“ Glück schönert dassehen”, 2000) . She worked with video artists such as Michael Kienzer , Roland Kollnitz and Markus Oehlen . In 2007, four of the artists she oversees , Simon Wachsmuth , Peter Friedl , Andrea Geyer and Imogen Stidworthy, as well as Ines Doujak , who she previously oversaw, were represented at documenta 12 in Kassel .
Teresa Bulgarini Prize
In 2008 she was named after the Teresa Bulgarini Prize .
