reception
The calm, reflective film is a film adaptation of the story of the same name by Mozambican author Mia Couto . Between reality and dream world, the characters move in the field of tension between latent danger and human warmth, looking for a future in the midst of hopelessness. The work was received positively by criticism.
“The story of a traumatized child as an atmospheric metaphor for a country devastated by violence and cruelty. The visually powerful directorial debut, told with the help of magical realism, retains a warm-hearted, humane humor despite the tragic theme. "
