Terret
As Terret one is white wines family called, the members of the oldest varieties in the Languedoc in the south of France belongs. They spontaneously form numerous mutations in different colors, which are often found together on one vine and sometimes even on one grape. For example, white and red berries can be found on a single grape.
Within the Terret family, the varieties Terret Blanc , Terret Gris and Terret Noir developed . These three varieties still occupy around 3600 hectares of vineyards in France .
Terret varieties are susceptible to powdery mildew and downy mildew . They ripen late and give acidic , light wines .
