Tetjana Rud

Tetjana Rud ( Ukrainian Тетяна Рудь ; born December 5, 1977 in Sumy ) is a Ukrainian biathlete .

Tetjana Rud, a student from Sumy, has been doing biathlon since 1993. She won the individual competition at the Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri in 1997 and took tenth place in the sprint. Two years later , the Ukrainian competed at the Biathlon World Championships in Kontiolahti . She finished 40th in the sprint, 33rd in the pursuit and a good fifth in the relay. The best result at the European Championship 2000 in Zakopane was eighth place with the relay, best result 2001 in Haute-Maurienne place 35 in the individual.

Rud made her World Cup debut in 1996 as Sprint 72. in Ostersund . In the following seasons she was able to improve continuously and reached in 1998 in Osrblie as fifth with the relay a first very good result, which she was able to improve by one place shortly afterwards in Oberhof . Rud also achieved her best result in 1999, when she came second in Lake Placid , with the relay. At the following World Cup station in Valcartier , the athlete was the 25th to win World Cup points for the first time. She could only beat this result once in a single race. In 1999 she was 15th in the Osrblie singles. After 2000 she was out for one season. Since 2003 Rud was mainly used in the Biathlon European Cup and was only used sporadically for a long time - in 2002 and 2004 - in the World Cup. Her best result in the European Cup was third place in the pursuit of Nové Město in 2007. Since 2007 Rud has been back in the Ukrainian squad for the World Cup, where she is also used regularly. At the 2007 Summer Biathlon World Championships on rollerskis in Otepää , Rud won the silver medal in the pursuit behind the Finn Kaisa Mäkäräinen after she had already won bronze in the sprint.
